Dreams Gone Wild: Outway Sock Fundraiser Raises Over $19,000 for IKCA
What started as a creative spark from 10-year-old Eamonn has grown into a powerful symbol of resilience and community. In 2024, Eamonn, an IKCA-supported child navigating a leukemia diagnosis, partnered with Victoria-based company, Outway to bring his bold and imaginative sock design, Dreams Gone Wild, to life.
Alongside a second design called Stay Strong, the socks were launched as a fundraiser for Island Kids Cancer Association, with 100% of net proceeds supporting children and families facing childhood cancer on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, Outway and Eamonn recently presented IKCA with a cheque for $19,331.71! Every dollar raised through sock sales will go directly toward vital programs that offer emotional, financial, and logistical support to over 200 families.
We are beyond grateful to Eamonn and his family, the Outway team, and everyone who purchased a pair of socks or shared this story. Your support makes a real difference, and this fundraiser is a beautiful example of what’s possible when creativity, compassion, and community come together. The socks have been the best conversation starter and along with incredible funds, they bring awareness to the organization as well. The dedication of this community to give back is truly remarkable.
And good news, the fundraiser continues! Eamonn’s Dreams Gone Wild socks are still available, with proceeds continuing to support IKCA. Together, we’re walking alongside families, one colourful step at a time.
