In August, Porsche Centre Victoria once again welcomed IKCA families to the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit for an unforgettable day on the track.

Fourteen families joined us for a day filled with warm hospitality, engaging activities, and the exhilarating experience of riding as passengers in Porsche vehicles. The joy was unmistakable—smiles stretched wide as children, youth, and parents embraced this special opportunity together. One family summed it up perfectly: “This is the best IKCA event we have ever participated in.”

A highlight of the day came from IKCA Young Adults, Alia and Savan, when they took the microphone at lunch to share their story. They spoke about the unique community of peers IKCA has given them; one built on understanding, connection, and support. Their words left a deep impact on everyone in attendance, highlighting exactly why events like this matter.

Beyond the track, the energy and engagement of Porsche Members and staff really stood out. Their generosity, both in fundraising and in the heartfelt way they connected with our families, helped create an atmosphere of care and celebration. Together, they raised over $100,000! These funds will go directly toward supporting families on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands navigating childhood cancer.

We are deeply grateful to Porsche Centre Victoria, the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, and all who contributed to making this day possible. Community partnerships like this are at the heart of what we do at Island Kids Cancer Association. By coming together, we can create unique opportunities for families while also ensuring the programs they rely on continue to grow.
