750 km at 75 towards $22,500 for IKCA: Paddling with a Purpose
Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA) is honored to support Paddling with Purpose, a heartfelt fundraising journey led by retired pediatrician, Oscar Casiro. To celebrate his 75th birthday, Oscar is embarking on a 750-kilometre stand-up paddleboarding challenge to raise $22,500 for IKCA—turning his passion for paddling into meaningful support for local children and families facing childhood cancer.
Thanks to overwhelming community generosity, Oscar has already surpassed his original goal of $7,500, and we are so grateful for the incredible support. With every kilometer he paddles, Oscar is helping IKCA provide vital programs like financial assistance, mental health support, and family connection services to over 200 families across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands.
We are incredibly thankful for Oscar’s dedication and generosity, as well as the event’s sponsors, Mer Tales Ocean Journeys and South Island SUP, for making this fundraiser possible.
