End2End Cycle Relay in support of IKCA
End2End 2026 Relay Recap
In June, nine incredible End2End cyclists completed their non-stop 1,000-kilometre relay, riding from Victoria to Port Hardy and back in less than 48 hours in support of Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA) families. This year’s relay built off the success of the first stage in June 2025.
Surrounded by friends and family, volunteers, sponsors, and fellow cyclists, the riders — including IKCA Oncology Mom Jen Millar — kicked off their challenge from Victoria’s Trek Bicycle Store on June 16. Sunshine and team vehicles followed the riders as they started towards gruelling climbs, nighttime conditions, and colder, windier weather throughout the ride.
Fighting fatigue, the team was greeted by communities along the ride route. Islanders showed up, and donations continued to come in as the riders journeyed up-island and back.
Greeted by cheers, the End2End team arrived back at the Trek Bicycle Store on June 18. The event included a barbecue, news hits, inspiring speeches, stories from the riders, and the final donation announcement. A true celebration of what the cyclists accomplished, as well as an example of the power of community.
This year’s End2End relay helped build awareness of the realities of childhood cancer and an understanding of the journey of IKCA families. Community partners got involved and helped to mobilize and support IKCA with enthusiasm and compassion. A combination of local support, individual and business donations, and associated events contributed to the success of this year’s relay. Thank you to the End2End leadership committee, volunteers, community members and sponsors, and of course, the riders, for their continued generosity and support.
Here’s to another successful event in 2027!
